Your Life is in Your Hands
The more I learn, the more passionate I become about what I do. The healthcare industry is a chasm, a confusing landscape of over-worked doctors, specialists, dysregulated pharmaceutical companies, and economy with few parameters. It is difficult to find physicians who communicate and collaborate for our individual healthcare.
I have learned firsthand, struggling for answers and information for ailing family members, my own physicians having failed me, causing years of heartache and confusion. Our healthcare is a “fix the symptom not the cause” system and is failing us, but we have choices, we have the power to heal.
I am not a physician, but damn if I don’t find myself on the front lines of healthcare and preventative medicine. I am embracing my role, here to keep people out of the healthcare system, and relay complicated information in clear, simple, actionable terms!
The very habits that define our daily lives, our lifestyle choices, seem to be the key to optimizing health and longevity. The flexibility of our metabolism, sleep quality, brain health, and immunity are all markers of health with one glaring connection that can greatly affect them: Nutrition and Movement. This is why I am obsessed and unapologetic about learning and researching beyond just training in the gym, and feel passionate about sharing.
Let’s take this journey together, and first define optimal health and longevity, understanding that “optimal” may be different for everyone. My idea of optimal may not be yours, but we can all agree that we’d like to live as long as possible, with a high quality of life, remaining highly functional and independent.
We need to define what habits and choices we are making on a daily basis that are leading us toward or away from better health, acknowledge how we can improve, and clear a path to get there.
Not sure what might move the needle? Let’s look at some of my posts from this last week about exercise, sleep, nutrition and join me for a free, upcoming seminar “How to Live Longer,” where we will dive deeper into actionable, simple steps we can take NOW to improve the quality and length of our lives.
The human body is amazing, responsive and resilient! That we can make such marked changes to our health through movement and nutrition is underrated and overwhelming, but we hold the key to living our best lives, for ourselves and our children.
