Stop complicating things!

Why do we think being healthy has to be so complicated? Gym memberships, organic food, special supplements, and the list goes on...

If we're not doing the BASICS, and finding JOY in them, no supplement or membership is going to move the needle.

1. Get some DAYLIGHT in your eyes everyday! First thing in the morning! It sets you up for the day, and will help you get to sleep at night. Yes, you can still get the effects of sunshine even on a cloudy day!

2. So many of us don't drink enough WATER. Again, the basics. Every cell in your body needs H20, drink water first thing in the morning after a long night of fasting and losing fluids.

3. REST is two-fold. We need SLEEP. And we need RECOVERY. They go hand in hand. But without quality sleep, we are fighting an uphill battle. At least 7-8 hours per night, I don't care who you are. (No, you cannot function optimally on 4-5 hours per night)

4. Get OUTSIDE. We were not made to be indoors all day long, then get in a car and drive, to be indoors again. Get outside in NATURE if you can is even better! Your brain will thank you.

5. Find some type of MOVEMENT you enjoy and DO IT. Make the time. Long walks with friends, tennis with your kid, hiking with your dog, jazzercise. If you enjoy it you will do it.

6. You ARE WHAT YOU EAT. Your health is all about what you put IN your body. Don't worry about trying to outcook your friends, or being able to afford all organic vegetables and local meat. Start with eating mostly whole foods most of the time! (whole foods means food in it's most natural form).
