Be enough.

It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not.

If I were honest with you, it seems a lot of us are not satisfied with some parts of our life, our bodies, our relationships, our jobs. We’re constantly hoping to lose a little weight, we belittle ourselves, feel guilty, don’t understand how to eat, to move, we labor over daily choices.

We sometimes notice friends, family members, even our children following down the same path, and give them advice, teach and support a better way. But why don’t we treat ourselves with the same respect and empathy we give others, as I talk about in my post here? We don’t take our own medicine, don’t put our oxygen mask on first!

There are aspects of our daily lives, like social media, societal norms, the food & healthcare industry, corporate America, that can be scrutinized for marketing poor choices, downplaying preventative care, and creating unsupportive atmospheres.

Our environments make it easy to overconsume, avoid any discomfort, take the easier road with our health (pharmaceutical industry anyone?), but we DO have choices, what we bring into our homes, how we create our environments, who we surround ourselves with, what we support.

While the social, environmental and economic reasons to point the finger are real, it comes back to how WE react, educate ourselves, and filter the information affecting our choices. These choices reflect how we feel about ourself, our inner voice, who we believe we are.

Our mindset, as seen in my post here, is how we view movement and healthy foods, how we view our jobs and our relationships, frame our reality. As I talk about here, healthy foods can be indulgent, exercise can be fun, we need to stop reminding others with our choices that we are not enough!! We need to keep casting those votes for who we want to be, and stop living as victims of our environment. With habits and behaviors we talk about here, we can CHANGE that environment, CHANGE that script!

We are running out of time. We will not live forever, so why are we living our lives stuck in places we don’t want to be? Why are we stuck? Dig deep, find help, figure it out, do something about it. NO ONE else will do it for us.

BE enough. Be BRAVE. Take one small step, make one different choice, dismiss one small doubt. Chip away and break free.

…okay, stepping down from the box. Pulling out my own goals and behaviors sheet, and getting to work. Want to know what I’m working on? Make sure you follow me on Instagram or Facebook!
